Switches come in two types – gang mount and surface mount. Both of these switches can be battery powered, though we do also offer a wired version of the gang-mounted switch that requires 24V DC power.
The gang-mount can go into any standard wall box. The gang-mount is used for a more permanent installation where the switch should be screwed in a wall. The surface-mount configuration is used for more flexible mounting approaches, either using the provided double sided tape to mount against a wall without having to create a hole, to mount against a conference room table, or even left floating on someone’s desk for their convenience.
