Amatis Controls designs and manufactures cost effective meters, monitors and controls. All our devices communicate effortlessly with the Cloud using an Internet communications protocol called 6LoWPAN. Our Energy Dashboard provides every client with the power of real time data to ensure optimum performance from all equipment and systems, from building scale to a specific luminaire. Amatis' systems are in the hands of the world's most discerning clients: from Rocky Mountain Institute founder Amory Lovins, to the Department of Energy, to the Army Corp of Engineers. We are committed to positively influencing systems of all scales with the power of live and cost- effective data.
Amatis Controls' products include cost-effective residential and commercial solar thermal controls; commercial Direct Current lighting controls; electricity and gas metering devices; and educational Energy Kiosks for campus and green buildings.
"Amatis" in Latin means "You love." Amatis Controls reflects the passion and commitment that motivates us all to our best endeavors. We are passionate in our drive to supply the simplest and most reliable products possible.
Amatis' products are a result of many years of work and study in both commercial and residential projects. We have worked to optimize software algorithms to improve the user experience, and to enable radical energy harvest. An example of one such process is our Superheat™ solution. This requires thermostats, boiler controls and solar thermal controllers to all work closely together to wring every last BTU out of a solar thermal system. We have enabled traditional installations, with off the shelf solar hot water systems, to achieve operations without a back up boiler – resulting in net zero performance. Net Zero Mountain Home
At Amatis we have experience in commercial construction projects with deadlines looming. The existing tools for commissioning intelligent building, in the eloquent words of Steve Jobs, "suck." We've developed and are patenting simple but smart commissioning solutions that ease installers' work to commission lighting, motorized window coverings etc. Our solution no longer requires stepladders or access above ceiling spaces. The job can be carried out vastly quicker, safer and more reliably.
Our latest products operate on an open standard platform of IPv6, and 6LoWPAN (IPv6 Low Power Radio, the Internet of things). We made this choice consciously, to encourage collaboration and to save our customers from the additional costs of using proprietary platforms. We encourage collaborators and competitors (perhaps to a lesser extent!) to utilize the openness of IPv6 and 6LoWPAN to provide their own complimentary tools and solutions. Amatis will provide support infrastructure and knowhow to collaborators, including high speed, low cost border routers with IP6-4-6-Pan routing and VPN capability. This will facilitate development of intelligent, integrated open products. However it's still a world full of existing proprietary solutions, so Amatis SCADA systems support Bacnet, Lonworks, Modbus.
We are proud to support the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies in their quest for net zero operations across their four campuses. Amatis' Energy Dashboard (link) provides metrics to help reduce energy wastage. Best, the Dashboard is so clear and visually appealing, its educational content is attracting the next generation of budding scientists, educators and engineers and kindred spirits. We want to inspire the next generation to build on our work and achieve the efficiencies we need for long-term sustainability.
"Over the past couple of years, my wife Judy and I have engaged Amatis Controls to set up a digital control and monitoring system for the major renovation and retrofit of our Lovins GreenHome, often called the "passive-solar banana farm," in Old Snowmass, Colorado. Amatis Controls have displayed great ingenuity and skill in solving unusual technical problems, and have produced a fine and highly functional product for viewing and analyzing our several hundred data streams, both real-time and historic, on any device with a Web browser—even on a smartphone halfway around the world. Many data-display experts who have seen Amatis’s interface consider it exceptional. We have been very pleased with the work."
